Keeping a Very Strict Diet
July 14th, 2008 by ThrandurI started with my diet/ healthier lifestyle by keeping a very strict diet, almost no carbs and I cut out almost all cheese as well. I ate mostly grilled chicken salads and a lot of fruit and yogurt (60 calorie diet yogurt). At the begining I also used SlimQuick an over the counter weight loss pill. I would take as recommend until I finished the bottle. When done I would switch to another over the counter pill, I like to use anything on sale that I only have to take twice a day (as I would always miss if it required 3 times) I also like pills that don’t require you to take right before or after a meal so that I’m not held to such a ridgid regime. I always switched up when i finished a certain bottle, so that my body didn’t get to used to any one pill. But the one I always went back to time and time again was SlimQuick as I saw the best results with that pill. For the first 6mnths or so I worked out in my home, my cable companies ‘On-Demand’ service offers free videos and I would work out along with those, and if I didn’t like one I would just change to another. Now I have stopped taking pills and in march I joined a gym. I belong to Curves a female only gym and i LOVE it. I go 4 times a week, right after work, because for me having the schedule keeps me on track. I love that all I have to do is follow the circuit I know going in there exactly what I have to do and for how long so there is no worrying of what I will have to do today. I have also eased up my diet a bit, I still watch my carb intake but I realize a slice of bread won’t kill me, I also tend to take “weekends off” meaning if I want something a bit sweet I’ll have it on the weekend. But I always go back to my healthy lifestyle on monday
Before I started I felt extremely fat and embarrassed. I was ashamed to go out in public and constantly worried about what others thought of me and my appearance. I also had little to no energy and not much motivation to leave my house.
I began to see results after like the first 2 weeks, nothing huge but I did have a lot of weight to lose and saw about 5lbs come off almost immediately. Within the first 3-4mnths I lost weight very rapidly prob around 50lbs.
I started my diet/ healthy lifestyle on August 20th, 2007 it has been approx. 11mnths and I have lost 80lbs and 10 dress sizes since then (I was a size 20 when I started and I am currently a size 10) I dropped the first 50lbs within the first 3-4 mnths, the last 30lbs has been much tougher to lose as I have less to lose now. I would like to lose 10-15 additional lbs and then i would be at my total ideal weight.
I kept to the strict diet and home excersize regime and diet pills for the first 6mnths. In jan.-feb my weight began to plateu and I was not happy with my total lost yet. So at that point I joined an actual gym and actually eased up on my food restrictions (b.c. sometimes your body needs some additional calories and/or fat to keep burning) I continued taking diet pills for an additional month. At this point I am losing approx. 5lbs per month, which is about 1lb per week, and b.c. I do not have much more weight to lose this is a healthy loss at this point.
I have found several of the products that I have used on this site. I am still in the process of going over the whole site since there is such an abundance of information. For someone who has been working hard at this for almost a year now I find having all this information on one site very useful!!
